"And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity"

USW Locals 801 & 825 Helping Hands is a non-profit organization that began in May of 1999
as a way to help families in our local communities who are in need

Mission Statement:

Union members through charitable means, supporting our communities by volunteering time,
funds, or services to those in need of a Helping Hand

We realize that we have good people and the resources to help families who are not as
fortunate as ourselves. Annually we support the local Christian Care Centers that provide food
to families that are less fortunate during the holidays. We also collect used prescription eye
glasses to be repaired and matched to someone who might not be able to otherwise afford
them. "Helping Hands" uses money raised from vending machines at our place of employment
to provide scholarships for local deserving studets. We sponsor fundraisers for other non-profit
organizations such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the local Meals on Wheels
program. We also help promote other notable charity organizations such as the yearly sign up
drive for the United Way of Hardin County. Our biggest fundraiser is the annual Cruise'n
Silsbee event. The money raised through this event help support our organization throughout
the year.

PACE recently merged with the steel workers union to form the United Steel Workers union
resulting in our name change from PACE Helping Hands to USW Helping Hands.
