CRUISE'N SILSBEE 2008
Five veteran rockers make up the new band, Navasota-Rio, that is the offspring of Navasota – the 70’s rock band from Houston, Texas. Navasota had a
“reputation for supercharged shows and dynamic musical ability” as the original ABC/Dunhill Records press release stated. And now Navasota-Rio not only
follows in those footsteps, but takes the “supercharge” up a notch or two.
Drummer and band leader for Navasota-Rio is Lindsey Minter, who was also the drummer for Navasota. Lindsey was a teenager when Navasota was formed
and later signed to ABC, but this time out he knows the value of great music and what makes a great band. Lindsey has shared the stage with the majority of
the great rock acts. (Yes, we do mean it!)  His ability to lay down those rock solid, stir your heart rhythms, has never been more bold and refined than with
Navasota-Rio.
Bassist for Navasota-Rio is Darrell Owens. While Darrell’s roots are in country, he has adapted extremely well to Navasota-Rio’s brand of classic, in your gut
rock ‘n roll. As he readily admits, he has never played anything like it before; he is also quick to point out that he loves it! Darrell is also a decorated
songwriter with several hit tunes to his credit before joining Navasota-Rio. He is now applying his songwriting skills to the music of Navasota-Rio, having
written “Payin’ my Dues,” “All or Nothin’,” and as co-writer with lead singer, Lance Cardin, on “Texas Flood of Tears.”
Lead singer is Lance Cardin. With vocal delivery that puts his audience into the heart of the song, Lance can charm, chastise, and convince with deft delivery
onstage. He is masterful when it comes to “live” performance, where the band lives and breathes! At the same time, he is a songwriter of great depth as
demonstrated by his songs, “Restless,” “Got Milk,” and as lyricist for “Give Me A Reason.”
Guitarist Mik Fenn, originally from the UK, has little to say about his musical past except to admit that he has had a “love/hate relationship at times.” (True
musician!) He may be modest, but when it comes to laying down guitar licks, he is anything but. Mik came to the US playing guitar. He spent many years
playing with Miss Lavelle White and other notables, but today he is making his mark as guitarist with Navasota-Rio.
Guitarist John Donaghy, originally from “Philly,” plays a guitar like it’s his last moment on earth. John also teaches guitar at Rockin’ Robin in Houston. With
vocal talent and extraordinary guitar talent, much is yet to come from this new member of the band. He brings to the band a catalogue of his own tunes, and
has already added to the Navasota-Rio song list with the music for “Give Me A Reason.”
The band is in the studio recording their first full-length album, which should be completed by early fall 2007.
Damian Giglio is an up and coming music talent, originally from the Beaumont area. Damian knew early on what he wanted to do when he grew up.
By the age of nine or ten he was listening to all forms of music and bugging his parents for a guitar. He grew up in a very musical household. His Dad,
Sam Giglio, also grew up playing keyboards in local bands.

Throughout junior high and high school Giglio honed his skills by playing in various bands. He went to the University of North Texas to pursue Music
and Communications. It was there that he immediately began making contacts in the music industry and meeting with club owners. He met the
drummer of a band called Farmer Brown while singing in the Men’s Chorus at UNT. Two weeks later he was picked to be in the already popular
band. The band experienced great success playing in and around the Dallas area. This band was chosen by the Vice President of Vh1 as the only
local band to play the Blockbuster Rockfest concert in Dallas during the summer of 1997. That hot summer day Farmer Brown shared the stage with
bands like No Doubt, Jewel, Matchbox Twenty, Bush, and Counting Crows to name a few. An estimated 400,000 fans attended the all day event.

Damian then went on to play in another successful band called Plasma Jack. During their two years together they shared the stage with several Major
label bands such as: Bowling for Soup, Ryan Cabrera, Blue October, Flickerstick, Edgewater, and Graham Colton. The band’s cd was produced by
Deep Blue Something of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” fame. Plasma Jack was a crowd favorite and played all over North Texas and Oklahoma.

Damian has recently signed with MTV to be a featured artist on the hit show “The Hills” and is working with the producer of the MTV show “The
Real World” to feature his music for the show.
